The Spiraled Stem Floral Design incorporates environmentally sustainable flowers, products, materials, and practices into our studio and every project we do. Flowers are often an overlooked element of eco-friendly decor, and now we have made it easy for eco-conscious companies, event planners, individuals, and brides to go green in every color.

Inside the Floral Design Studio

The Spiraled Stem moved into our current location in December 2007. Christine was looking for an industrial suite with a consultation area, private office, and warehouse for designing the flowers, and she found just the place in Anaheim Canyon. It was a blank slate and needed a lot of work to get it up to Christine’s standards. With just four weeks of hard work and elbow grease by a team led by Christine’s dad Jack and CFO (Chief Fabrication Officer), we were ready to host our opening launch party on January 31, 2008.

This is what the studio looked like vacant before Christine signed the lease in December 2007.

We began improvements in January. Christine used environmentally friendly materials including bamboo floors, Vista EarthCare low VOC paint, and a sink made of Swanstone. Interior treatments such as the cove base, window, baseboards and moulding, and balastrades were purchased from Habitat for Humanity ReStore, where proceeds go towards building homes for those in need. Some days it was so cold, the putty to patch the walls was frozen solid, and the paint took forever to dry. We also installed energy efficient T8 lighting, and most of the cost was subsidized by the City of Anaheim’s Green Building Program.

Wedding season was soon in full swing, so the studio has been all set up to meet with our clients. The consultation area is also available for coordinators and event planners to meet with their clients, please contact Christine for more information. The warehouse is where we go into production on events. Here is a look behind the scenes as we prepared for some of our biggest events this season.
