Entrants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be engaged to be married prior to January 2, 2009
Plan to be married prior to December 31, 2010
Hold the wedding in Southern California (San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, or Ventura Counties)
Have lost hair due to treatment of breast cancer
Anticipate at least 2 ½ inches of post-treatment hair regrowth prior to the wedding date
Be a legal resident of the United States
Be legally allowed to marry in the State of California on or after January 1, 2009
Be at least 18 years of age on January 1, 2009
Employees of sponsors and their immediate families are not eligible to apply. Offer void outside of the United States and wherever prohibited or restricted by law.
Submission Guidelines
To apply, download the Say 'I Do' With a Big 'Do Contest Personal Statement from the .zip file, open it in Microsoft Word, and fill out the form. Save the file as an Adobe PDF with the Entrant’s name in the file name and email it, along with a high resolution .jpeg of the Entrant holding a current newspaper, to sayidocontest@thespiraledstem.com.
Entry Period
The Contest will commence on November 1, 2008 at 8:00am PST. Entries must be received by January 2, 2009 January 30, 2009 March 6, 2009 at 8:00pm PST.
Selection and Notification of Winners
The finalists will be selected by a panel of judges from the wedding, beauty, and breast cancer treatment communities. The panel will select the top five finalists on or about January 23, 2009 February 7, 2009, March 7, 2009 and notify them by email of their finalist status. The profiles of the top five finalists will be posted on www.thespiraledstem.com on or about February 1, 2009 February 7, 2009 March 7, 2009 and the winner will be selected by online voting that will be open for the following seven days. The finalist receiving the most votes at the end of the voting period will be declared the winner. The winner will be announced at a Southern California Brides Against Breast Cancer Gown Sale on or about March 1, 2009 February 27-28, 2009. the green wedding panel discussion and book signing event for Green Wedding: Planning Your Eco-Friendly Celebration by Mireya Navarro on March 15, 2009 at The Spiraled Stem Floral Design.
By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless all Sponsors from any and all liability or damages associated with acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize received in the Contest.
Prizes
The winner will receive a Prize Package including the following:
Human hair extension package by Celebrity Hairstylist Abby Aguilera, including application of the extensions by Abby Aguilera with one assistant (estimated to take up to six hours), and a hairstyling session on the bride’s wedding day. Valued at $5,000.
A floral package for the wedding from the e collection, by The Spiraled Stem Floral Design. Package includes personal flowers, ceremony flowers, and ten centerpieces for the reception. Valued at $2,000.
A “Day-Of” wedding coordination package from Simply Mumtaz Events. This coordination package includes service and communication with your lead consultant beginning three (3) weeks prior to your wedding day and includes: 1. PLANNING & PREPARATION-A personalized Bridal Checklist and schedule of events for the bride and groom and a comprehensive Wedding Day Timeline for bride and groom and the wedding party; 2. VENDOR COORDINATION-Serve as liaison with all vendors to ensure contracted goods and services are delivered and manage and confirm final payments to vendors; 3. REHEARSAL COORDINATION-Orchestrate wedding rehearsal, answer any bridal party concerns, and create and distribute directions and personalized day-of itineraries for bridal party; 4. CEREMONY & RECEPTION COORDINATION-Assist with coordinating table layout, seating assignments and place cards and prepare seating charts and event diagrams; 5. WEDDING DAY SERVICES-Coordinate and manage ceremony and reception, provide sufficient staff to oversee set-up and design, and distribute gratuities and any final payments to vendors and service staff; 6. POST-EVENT SERVICES-Complete Event Evaluation, assist with ensuring that vendor agreements were executed, and assist with ensuring that any final billing issues are resolved. Valued at $3,500.

All five finalists and the first ten qualified Entrants will automatically receive a Foot Petals Runaway Bride Gift Set.
Additional prizes may be added to the prize package as the Contest progresses. All prizes are non-transferable and cannot be sold or redeemed for cash. Any federal, state, or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. In the event the selected winner is unable to redeem the prize package on or before December 31, 2010, the finalist with the next highest number of votes will be awarded the prize package.
Conditions
By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges and results of online voting, which shall be final, and waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest and/or these Official Rules. Entry into the Contest constitutes permission to use the entrant’s entry, name, likeness, biography, and prize won for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
All entries, photographs, and other materials submitted in connection with the Contest shall become the property of The Spiraled Stem Floral Design and will not be returned to the entrant.
The entrants release, discharge, and hold harmless The Spiraled Stem Floral Design, Abby Aguilera, Simply Mumtaz Events, Sculpted Silhouette, Foot Petals and any other Contest Sponsor, the Selection Panel, their parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, and assigns, and their respective employees, attorneys, representatives and agents, including advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, from any and all liability or damages arising from the administration of the Contest and the use or misuse of any price received in the Contest, including, without limitation, the following: 1) late, lost, incomplete, delayed, misdirected or unintelligible entries, 2) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors in any materials associated with the Contest, including without limitation, entry materials and prize notifications, and 3) any damage to the entrant’s computer and related equipment and software resulting from the entrant’s downloading of information regarding the Contest or participation in the Contest. Entry materials and prize notifications that have been tampered with, altered, or do not comply with these Official Rules are void.
